“When is someone going to plant a church that IS your grandma’s church? Have we planted enough churches that “aren’t your grandmas church”?”

I discovered them because I read Jonathan Martin’s book Prototype, which was absolutely beautiful.
I got a flyer in the mail a few months back that said something to the effect of, “Are you looking for a church that holds on to traditional values and doesn’t bend to the culture?” Inside it, they advertised for a revival they were having and showed a picture of the guest speaker and his wife. His wife was dressed like the woman in the American Gothic painting with the pitchfork holding farmer husband, and the speaker was holding what must have been a 25 lb. Bible. Elsewhere on the flyer they listed upcoming church events and one was a children’s pilgrim and Indian dress-up day.
The flyer should have just said, “This IS your grandma’s church.” It was goldmine, I’m sad I threw it away.
But I just read the link from Joyce on Renovatus Church and I like the way they put it positively.
